Get Movin' For Mental Health Run

A Color Walk/Run is one that incorporates safe colored powdered as part of the course. Walkers/runners will each receive a packet of colored powdered to use on themselves or with a group. At a couple of points along the course we'll have volunteers throwing up colored powdered for anyone who wants to walk/run through it. This creates a fun and unique experience, memorable photos, and lots of colorful fun. Powder is safe and easily washes off later. We'll have clean up stations with blowers and towels to help you clean up before you head home.

No! This event is being organized and managed by the team at United Returning Citizens. Although we use the same types of colored powder as the The Color Run™, we are not affiliated.

We'll provide you a white t-shirt at registration to make sure you have something fun to capture all your colors on. Otherwise, wear whatever you'll be comfortable walking/running in and getting colored powder on! Color powdered should not stain your clothing unless it is left on for an extended period of time.

We are utilizing food and cosmetic grade colored powder, also known as Holi powder (from the Indian Holi celebration). Color powder does not stain your skin or hair, and should not stain clothing as long as it's washed with a few days. The colored powder is FDA approved and non-dust explosive by OSHA. Those with asthma may find that the colored powdered aggravates their asthma. However, when used outdoors it is perfectly safe.

The color powder cleans easily off most surfaces and is as easy as brushing or blowing off a majority of the color powder. A little soap and water will take care of the rest! The powder has a chalk-like consistency, and cleans in much the same way.

Most clothing can be washed as normal without staining. If staining occurs on white clothing, it can be cleaned with a laundry whitener.

Porous surfaces such as leather, vinyl, suede, or foam products can be the most difficult to clean. Please do not wear valuable clothing or shoes to color powder events.

We recommend bringing a towel or trash bag to line the seat of your car for your return drive home if you plan to partake in a lot of colored powder activity!
